Ski touring adventure - Jostedalen - Best snow
Description
-
Guided ski touring trip, where we are hunting for the best snow and lines for 6 days
-
Experience the hidden ski touring paradise Jostedalen, right next to Europe's largest glacier
-
Refresh your avalanche and ski touring skills
-
The programme is highly flexible, and the exact ski tours that we are gonna do, will be decided based on the current conditions and weather.
The adventure starts with arriving in Gjerde or Gaupne on day 1 latest at 16.00. After arriving in Gjerde, all participants will be lodged for 7 nights in a cosy single room.
After being lodged, you can shop breakfast/lunch in nearby grocery store.
Day 2-7 will be ski touring days where we are skinning up, in order to find the best touring possibilities at the moment.
However, if it is dumping snow, we might be doing some days in a nearby resort, in order to fully enjoy the fresh powder.
We aim to stay mostly in Jostedalen, however we might be doing some trips closer to the amazing Luster fiord, and even up in Jotunheimen, all depending on the weather and conditions!
Arriving back during the afternoon on day 8, we are enjoying one last dinner, and hopefully having a farewell party.
Day 8: participants are being driven back to Gaupne early in the morning, and from there catching the bus back homeward.
Who is this course for
This is first and foremost a guided trip, where the focus is on finding the best snow and ski touring lines to be found at the particular moment.
If you are more interested in learning a lot of new skills that you can use later for your own trips, I recommend checking out the:
Avalanche & Ski touring Course
In order to sign up for the trip, you need to have some skiing/touring experience from before. However it is not necessary to be a "world champion" or similar. Being able to ski down blue/red runs in a resort with speed control, and having done some backcountry ski trips should do it. If in doubt about whether this is the right trip for you, please contact me and let's discuss further.
The goal is simply to just have a good time, and enjoy the best ski touring that we are able to find in the hidden gem of Jostedalen!
It is mandatory to ski with an approved ski helmet during this trip.
We will further make sure that we are never exceeding out capabilities as a group, for therein lies one of most important aspects of doing ski tours in wild mountain regions!
