4 week Freeride course - Norway
Description

Week 1 - Alpine ski technique course in Hemsedal ski resort. During this week we focus on developing our ski technique systematically, by working closely together and do video analysis.

Week 2 - Alpine ski touring and avalanche course in Hemsedal.

Week 3 - Advanced alpine ski touring course. We travel to Jostedalen, and learn about glacier travel/rescue, ice axe and crampons.

Week 4 - Alpine ski tours and skiing on glaciers in Jotunheimen. Participants has to plan and do alpine ski tours in the big mountain area.
The courses are 5 day long each week, running from monday - friday.
Who is this course for
This is a course for you who wants a longer and serious training in the fields alpine skiing and alpine ski touring!
The emphasis is on making sure that all participants are getting all the basics right from the start!
This course will lay a solid foundation for you who contemplates becoming a guide, or perhaps you just want to improve your skills for doing your owns tours.
You need to have a little skiing experience from before, but you do not in anyway have to be an expert or similar.
It is important that you have a huge motivation for learning a lot of new skills in a cold and demanding environment.

Location & Transport
During this course we will visit different locations. Hemsedal, Jostedalen and Jotunheimen.
However, some of the location might changed all dependent on weather and conditions.
What is included

5 weeks of instruction of a qualified Arctic Nature Guide/Ski guide student at Nortind

First aid equipment, including satellite beacons

Alpine resort/racing skis (if you have it will be beneficial to bring for the alpine ski technique course)
